Can you even obtain Russian River beer?

How??  I would like some Pliney…and another toughie is Lost Abbey I want some
duck duck gooze :-\

I have always found it easy to find, even though I live in Michigan. Trips to San Fransicso always have one, two, or even three stops at the Toronado, where it is on tap.  Then drive up to Santa Rosa, they have a lot on tap at the Brew Pub.

All kidding aside, unless you are in one of the areas blessed with good distribution, you have to work hard to find it.  IIRC, you are not in one of the states they distribute to.  Online shops may be one way to find it.  Just remember that they are a small brewery, and have trouble keeping up with demand.

The wife and I travel, and the North Bay area is one of our favorites, so we have been able to have it many times.  Worth the effort however you can get it.

Good Luck!

Thanx for the info and it is as I surmised.  I keep hoping for some inside info and or assistance.

But it online, pretty easy.

This place is my local bottle shop, he’s got both and he ships (provided he can legally ship to your state).

You won’t find Pliny though, that sells out the same day he gets his 2 case allocation.

Here in Colorado most good Stores carry about 70% of Russian River beers. When Pliny the Elder is available it’s usually limited to 1 bottle per purchase. Pliny the Younger was on tap at Oskar Blues Brewery and Falling Rock Tap House last month and was also limited to 1 glass per customer.

They don’t distribute to Virginia so we’re out of luck here.  They do distribute to Pennsylvania though so when I go up visit my folks I’ll need to check to see what’s available.

Maybe I can stumble upon it in Colorado or ship some in… :'(  beer challenged 1vertical

Man, that’s rough. The bar at the end of my street serves pliney, and the local Whole Foods carries it as well (along with several of their other offerings).

Can’t get it at all. Except for the Avery-Cilurzo collaboration.

I’ve done some beer exchanges in the past.  Send a box of 12 12-ounce bottles of something local to a friend or relative in a distant land and have them pick out something local to return.  They also have wine sized boxes that make shipping the bigger bottles easier.  Anybody else do this?

Here is another to try, if they ship to the high and dry plains.

thanks for the links guys, keep em coming…but FWIW, I think the pliny is NOT to be found…

I’ve swapped with fellow homebrewers. Hard to find stuff shipped in exchange for other beer.

I was finally able to get two bottles of Pliny and a bunch of other rare stuff through crackedkettle.com (EU only) - and they only get four bottles every month or two. Online shops are your best bet, I think.
