Caring for a wooden cask

Hi Guys,

I’m new here and looking to get back into brewing.

I do have a question though. I have a yearning to use wooden casks, (probably Firkins) and I do have one from a few years ago that I used for Mead. I never did find out how I’m supposed to “keep it good” between brews. Can anyone help me out with what to do please?

Rob

I have no direct experience, but I think the most common thing that winemakers do with their casks is to store them with a sulfite (i.e., Campden) and citric acid solution.

Thank you!
