This has been a major topic of conversation for a few weeks here.
Our homebrew club has asked everyone to call our representatives in the legislature to express our concern and opposition to this bill. I am sure other clubs and craft brewers in Florida has also.
Anyone in Florida------Let your voices be heard! Call and write your representatives.
Damn, they’re shooting themselves in the foot. Nothing like shutting down breweries in the state. That’s just crazy.
Guess that is the tip of the iceberg that big beer is going to use. If it works look for it to show up in other states.
Sounds a lot like Iowa’s 3 tier system. You can sell your beer on-sale on draft but all off-sale business has to go through a distributor (my understanding, at least). Direct sales of packaged beer to the public would be a huge boon to small brewers in Iowa but we’ll never see it here.

Same here in texas. Selling draft beer is new.
It was only recently that small breweries here in FL started selling growlers and having tasting rooms. They used a loophole in a law that A-B invented to sell beer at Busch Gardens 50 years ago, linking it to being part of a tourist attraction. It’s fitting that they are the ones trying to change the rules now.
This is all a result of a sick combination of moral guardians (alcohol is bad, yo) and revenuers. I’ve never understand how the US got so uptight that everything must be regulated out of existence. You know haggis was illegal until a few years ago?
