Enjoyed Burning Bridge club collab beer featured in Zymurgy!

I enjoyed the latest issue of Zymurgy and the article on the SoCal Cerveceros. As someone local to SoCal, it has been fantastic to see the club grow and flourish. The article talked about Burning Bridge Brewing, founded by one of the SCC’s, and a club collaboration beer (Ex-Miss, a spiced winter ale). This provided a great excuse to make the short trip over to Burning Bridge, and I was thrilled to see Ex-Miss on tap (which as a recipe in the magazine)! It’s not often I get to sample something directly mentioned in Zymurgy, especially in club-related articles.

The beer had a pleasant juniper note, which melded well with the other spices. This was a cool beer in that it was a bit more experimental than you usually see nowadays in our local taprooms. Kudos to the Cerveceros and Burning Bridge on an interesting (and tasty) beer! I enjoyed sampling the rest of the Burning Bridge line-up, too (it was nice to see an amber ale in the mix, alongside the usual IPAs).

We did happy hour a few months back with Ruben and he’s a fun guy to talk with - kept entertaining us with stories on Zoom while still running the tap room (he was short a staffer that day)
