I like to use wyeast 1968. I feel it accentuates the malt flavor, and it drops very clear in a short time.
Like I said earlier, to each their own but I am not a fan. I use wlp002 in my bitters with a decent regularity but am not a fan of it in my milds. Personal preference. But it definitely drops like a rock.
Eh, I may be the odd man out, but I’m a big fan of Wyeast 1084 - Irish Ale.

While I don’t mind that yeast for dry stouts, I do believe there are better options.
It’s hard to beat Palmer’s Elevenses with 1469. I’ve done it twice, and I’ll do it again!!
