It’s still going strong! A Back Abbey visit is my go-to “treat myself” spot.
My first experience with DT was on tap in of all places an Irish Pub in Maine. With the first sip it became one of my favorite beers. I found what was purported to be the spicing for DT in an online article. I’ve brewed my Trippel with that spicing a couple times with good results. I have the ingredients to brew it again in a couple weeks. Makes a great “fireplace” beer.
Greetings Larry — I would be interested in learning more about the spices you wrote about. I’m planning to brew this style sometime in the near future. Thanks!
Hi Keller:
You can find a “clone” recipe on Brewers Friend and several other sites. Some indicate it is based on info from a brewer at Huyghe. I just took the spicing regimen and put it in my Trippel recipe and find it very good. I’ve attached my recipe here. It’s a BeerSmith format. If that doesn’t work for you, let me know and I’ll try to convert it to a pdf file.
I’m thinking I’ll mash at a lower temperature when I brew this in a couple weeks to dry it out a little.
Cheers and happy brewing,
Larry

Hi Larry — thank you for your input. I have downloaded your recipe with no issues. I’ll import it into BS3 later today.
Thanks again!
Cheers!!!
