I second college football. I feel the competition is more exciting than NFL. However, it remains to be seen if NIL is going to destroy this for me.
Since moving to Alabama, we’re legally obligated (it’s in the state constitution) to pick sides in the Bama vs. Auburn feud. War Tide! Roll Eagle!
This is a “i’m just happy that everyone else is happy” quote ![]()
Go Bears! (If they can stop being their own worst enemy)
Same here in Georgia, Drew, where we get plenty of spillover from adjacent SEC states on all 4 sides. We have quite a bit of GaTech fandom here too, but Bulldawgs merch/signage outnumbers everyone else by about 10-to-1 (and probably dwarves the Atl Falcons merch by 20-to-1).
I played college football at a Top 20 school (they actually won the national championship when I was in a redshirt injury year) but I just can’t get excited about college football anymore, it just seems like an inferior product to me, and the lack of parity gets worse every year under NIL.
While our high school football here isn’t on par with Texas or Florida, we do have 2 HS teams ranked in the top 12 nationally (Milton #9, Buford #12), and later this week they play each other on ESPN in Buford High School’s new 10,000 seat ($62M!) stadium. Crazy to think HS football can be that huge…
Anywho, I am a Maryland transplant down here, so: Go Ravens! Caw! Caw!

And now that the NCAA’s ruling is out regarding the Michigan sign stealing case, college football is even More farcical.
Football is back, indeed.
Liverpool 4-2 Bournemouth
An emotional win at Anfield, remembering Diogo Jota.
