I have a 22 cubic ft frig that I put in a 5ft by 5ft utility/ storage room with a 8 ft ceiling. The room was at 100 degrees and frig running constantly rarely shutting off. Utility room door has a vent at the top. I had frig set at warmest setting and it was hovering around 60 for frig inside temp. It is a side by side. Should I get a smaller frig to put in this room are is it the room to small? Any suggestions?
sounds like you need to get some ventilation going in there. I bet if you can bring in some outside air and vent the hot air (vent from high up, make up air from low down) it would help some. also make sure your coils are cleaned our regularly.
Vent is on top part of door. Would I then need to attach some sort of ventilation fan to ceiling and have it pumped into my attic or to the outside through exterior wall?
A vent at the top won’t do much if there isn’t another vent to bring cool air in. Add another down low. A fan will help, but may not be needed. You should be able to ventilate with house air.
Thanks, I will give this a shot
You might be able to trim the bottom of the door a half inch for ventilation
Thanks for the advice. Will let you know how it works out
