HomeBrewer from Tijuana Mx, already addicted

I started 6 months ago in this fascinating hobbie of Brewing.
I don’t know how the hell its keeping my mind almost every hour at work, home, while driving, before sleep!! damn!

last saturday i was making my first kind of IPA from leftovers hops: Liberty, Saaz, Hallertauer and Magnun
5 pounds of 2 Row,
5 pounds of Pilsner mal
1 pound Biscuit malt
Safale 04 (very aggresive!)
65 IBU’s aproximate

Excelent attenuation, in six hours it was already messy, sticky floor, airlock at 3 feet side of the fermenter (boom!) well i hope i did’t have an infection for this, meanwhile… i’ll wait for good results

I begun with 3 batches from extract, 1 partial grain and i have 3 batches being All Grainer…
I will like to share some pictures and stuff with you…

Welcome.
How hot is it where you are brewing?  That’s a pretty big beer and if you are not careful it can get too hot which will cause the airlock to blow off.  It is also bad for your beer to ferment too hot.

We meet again! Welcome to the AHA forum. I’m very fond of pics as well.

Welcome to the Forum! And to the best Hobby ever!

Well, the current temperature of the wort before adding the yeast was 26.5 F. Previously i re hydrated the yeast in warm temp,(pre boil water) and the add it at the temperature, in minutes S04 it begun really foamy and well reacted.

I didn’t really leave to much space in the carboy for krausening, but now is doing well

ey thanks Euge, haha like your avatar!!
El famoso y malo: El Tuco!

it really is, i want to make 2 batches per month haha
thanks

Is that 26.5 deg. Celsius or Fahrenheit?  you listed 26.5 F but that would be frozen solid so I’m guessing you meant 26.5 C which is around 80 deg F.  A little warm and would definitely cause a big blow off.

Welcome to the obsession!

Paul

Hola! Que tal? Quienes mas macho? Me o Ricardo Monteban?

yes, i was talking Celius , sorry sometimes i work better in Farenheit and other times with Celsius,
but anyway, that was a good spectacle after all… like a volcano!

Usted.  Ricardo Montelban es muerto.

What SNL skit was that from?

i supposed El Tuco! he rocks!

I mean, TUco Benedicto Pacifico Juan Maria Ramirez

“Quien es mas macho?”

I can’t find a clip of it on teh interwebs.

Right.  I remember seeing it, but can’t remember who was in it or what the basic setup was.

Bill Murray was the game show host, I remember him asking . . .

“Quien es mas macho, Fernando Lamas o Ricardo Montalban?
Quien es mas macho, Lamas o . . .  MONTALBAN?”

Its back from the Billy Crystal days…early to mid 80s

A picture of my converted cooler for mashing and while colecting the wort, a days ago

At what time do you add the chihuahua to the BK?

Feb 1979 according to this, although they may have done it more than once . . .

Yeah, I didn’t think Billy Crystal.  That was the “You look mahvelous” bit.  I seem to remember quien es mas macho also included Lloyd Bridges.
