"House" yeast strains

1450 is good but i find it leaves a slickness that i’m not too crazy about but i only brewed with it once so could have been the recipe which was tasty mcdole’s  janet’s brown ale

To me it’s more of a velvety smoothness than a slickness

gotta try it again, whats a great recipe you recommend for your favorite 50?

Have you not heard of Noti Brown Ale?

Besides the Noti Brown already mentioned (just kicked a keg of it) the obvious recipe is Rye IPA.  That’s where I started using it.

Thumbs up for 1450 in rye IPA.

I have not, there are many styles i don’t know of. i love all beer but only really brew/drink 6 styles stout,pilsner,IPA/pales, and a sour once a year and everything else flys over my radar

Here ya go…several suggestions

the dc rye looks like the one, appreciate it

The same DC that created the Noti Brown, by the way…our very own Denny Conn!  (In case you didn’t know that you were corresponding with the source above.)

That Rye IPA sounds good.  I am probably going to have to put that on the list.  I’ve only brewed with Rye once.

It is the only IPA that I make and it is wonderful.  DC got that one very right IMO.

Developed that for my wife’s yearly birthday party nearly 20 years ago.  I brewed 10-12 test batches til she told me it was right.  Brewed it exactly the same every time since.

The kudos belong to my wife who has excellent taste buds and a love of IPA!

I tend to keep a few going, even when I’m not brewing.  007, 565, 1450, 3864.  I haven’t used any Chico yeast in years, I may have to revisit it.  I had a 21 cu ft ferment freezer that died.  Man you can’t find a used freezer right now for anything.
