A brewpub recently opened about 2/3 of a mile from my house.
I don’t even have a grocery store within a 20 minutes drive. You can’t see my house in this photo but my property is on the closest mountain to the left.
3/10 of mile (yep measured and walked it before) been there forever and the only thing really there. cash only place where locals from town hang.
Used to be about 25 miles until it closed. Now almost 60 miles from here in Fallon, NV to Sparks, NV. Another few miles to Reno where there are a few more.
That’s a hill.
I have a lazy dog across the street. Does that count?
7venth Sun is opening a second brewery about 0.4 miles from my house. Until then Angry Chair is 1.4, Southern Brewing is 2.2, Tampa Bay Brewing is 4.1, Coppertail is 4.8, Six Ten is 7.8 and Cigar City is 8 miles away.
An enterprising group started a weekend bus circuit that stops at several of these spots continuously.
The second one on the left is a hill, agreed. The first one is a mountain. Granted, it is only 1750 feet tall, but let me take you on a hike out the back door and you will quickly understand (and you can’t see the peak in the pic).
It’s 15 miles to the closest one. Thankfully it’s only 16 miles to the closest one that makes good beer
In Chicago I’ve got a bunch to choose from but coming from the 'burbs with traffic it could be a 1-2 hour drive and then I got a look and hope for parking:(
Only 5.35 miles as the crow flies. Alamo Beer.
Right now its about 45 minutes away. But this spring a farm in town that has a cool farm store with great ice cream and lots of local stuff is opening a brewery at the farm. They have been homebrewing about 4-5 years. I never tasted their beer but if its at least decent it will be pretty sweet. They do a big BBQ every Friday and Saturday evening with live music that is byob or you can but beer at their store and drink it outside like byob. That will be even sweeter with a selection of beer brewed on premisis available on tap.
Yelp tells me 5 breweries in 5 mile radius. There are another 4-5 in the next 5 miles.
About 35 miles in the winter, 20 in the summer. 35 mi gets me to (I think) nine though.
Dang, I can only imagine how close you are to my sister then!

12 miles to my closest, but 40 minute drive to our favorite and damn if we did not miss their 4 year anniversary party today
Zero miles to “nearest” brew pub. Thats one of the perks of brewing.
40 miles to nearest commercial brew pub. Everybody’s in White Salmon. Their beer is better than most, typical but tasty yuppy bar food.
8/10 of a mile. It’s a former GABF brewpub of the year, but the beer has gone downhill since that brewer went to Oregon. I hardly ever go anymore.
Right now I have 2 that are about 10 miles away. However… in the next year one is going up about 200 meters from my house…walking distance for sure. Not sure if that is a good or bad thing :o

There are also several in downtown Vancouver just a 12 minute bus ride away. The closest homebrew shop is a 20 minute ride on the same bus.

About a 30 min, drive for me. Of course, where I live, everything is a 30 min. drive!
