You look just like Landfill, and act just like Landfill. Do you mind if we just call you Landfill? Sure!
I had to look that up and watched the trailer. A new low.
Apparently the idea of a campy cult movie is lost on Belgians. ![]()
The movie was OK, but I just thought it was a little far fetched that Duke Atreides would coach a drinking team. Thufir maybe
OK, now you have impressed me. Some of my favorite books of all times.
Stop forcing me to look up stuff. You are making me feel insecure.
Another reason never to say shit like “I don’t like lager” on an american homebrew forum.
I must not have thought this through
I thought they would hail me as the new beer messiah. “Finally a man who says in public what we all think secretly”, I thought they would say. ![]()

Who has the ability to say something they aren’t thinking? That’s like a Wonder Woman super power.

Yes, and I got all confused when they started shouting “Das Boot”. Are you impressed now? 8)
So I ordered WYEAST 2124. There’s no turning back now. ![]()
As a side note the recipe I posted, aside from being our #2 selling beer, is also a beer we contract brewed for Panalpina which does a direct flight from Luxembourg to Huntsville. Apparently the beer went over very well in Luxembourg.
Here’s my favorite lager I brew (It’s the beer I dink the most of from everything I brew)
1.058
19 BUs
73.2% Vienna (Best)
25.4% Pils (Best)
1.4% carafa Special II (cold soaked added after vorlauf)
Approx 19 IBUs German Mangum @ 60
About .75 oz per 5 gallons American Crystal hops @ flame outWY2124
Dough in 150-152 for 60 min. Pitch at 48 and ferment at 48 before raising for d rest near end of fermentation.
Keith is this more of a Vienna or a Czech Amber. Both are very close to this in beersmith and if I brew it and love it and want to enter it, just wondering

That’s really cool, Keith !

I wanted something original so, if anything, it might fit better into a North German Alt. I originally started it off as a 1.065 beer that was a “red hellesbock” and lowered the SG to where it is now. Sorry if that’s not any more help.
No problem, I still like the sounds of it a lot. Thanks Keith
Your cold steeping the carafa separately and dumping it in at end of mash?

yes, cold steep and add just for coloring.
Cool. Seems like such a tiny amount that I had to confirm.

I have never brewed this beer smaller than 10bbl batch so there may be some tweaking on the smaller batch size. The beer is a fairly deep red.
