Let the Games Begin!

The reason they aren’t any good is their defense and coaching, not Romo.  When you can’t force the other team to punt it is hard to win games.  Romo gets all the criticism because he is the QB, but you shouldn’t be losing games when you score 48 or 36 points or are up by 23 points at half.  Good job by the coach to throw the QB under the bus in the post game presser, BTW.  And this is coming someone who is not a Cowboys fan.  That and Billy C. stinks as an offensive coordinator.  Saw that dumpster fire here in Nebraska for 5 years.

Long snapper job description:
Deliver the ball to the holder - head high.

That’s not face ripples, that’s Brandon Fields saying, “WHAT THE FU…”

speaking of a player saying “What the fu…,” how about the blind side block on Bengal’s punter Kevin Huber.  That block fractured his jaw…ouch!

Everyone likes to hit the little guy on the field.  I hope there wasn’t a penalty on the play since he is coming straight at him.

Wanted: New football team in the city of Detroit.
Qualifications: Don’t suck!

I’m not one to harp on blown calls, but the Lions lost that game last night due to very bad officiating by one back judge.  So much so, it almost seemed purposeful.

The Lions played well last night.

Not just a broken jaw, but fractured a vertebrae as well!?  Double ouch!

Now they are saying illegal hit because the kicker is considered to be a defenseless player. ???
Maybe they should not let kickers tackle since they are defenseless.

What did the zebras have to do with all the picks Stafford slung?  ::slight_smile:

The Lions are a weird team for sure;  soooo much talent but wow are they undisciplined.  I think it starts with that punkass coach.

I saw one go against the ravens, but there were several blown calls that went against the lions, I thought it was very one-sided.  That one non-call at the end was terrible.  If I was a lions fan I’d be pissed, but the league won’t do anything about it.

Yeah, Stafford threw some picks and Calvin Johnson dropped some easy passes.  Lions should have won.  But they didn’t.

If their reasoning is it is an illegal hit because he is the punter, I’ve got to call BS.  If he’s going to try to tackle then he’s got to be fair game to get smacked.

If they want to call it illegal because he hit him high that’s fine.

It’s like the QB after an interception - if you want to protect him, he needs to keep himself out of the play.  If he wants to get involved, he should be fair game.

I don’t like using the refs as an excuse. The Lions should have won that game in spite of the refs. They had their opportunities and didn’t take advantage.

On that note, I’ve never seen such blatantly obvious calls go uncalled like they did that night. There were 2 or 3 major calls that went against the Lions that were wrong. Only the Lions find a way to lose like that. I’m starting to believe in the curse.

There are a lot of little things in each game that contribute to the outcome, so I agree the lions should have won despite the bad calls.  But the refs should not have an uneven impact on the game, and I think it is worthwhile to point it out when they mess stuff up.  It doesn’t change the past, but it might affect the future.

Dooo eeeee oooooooooooo!!!

No kidding.  Did they change a rule recently?  I remember watching games where there was an interception and guys would go right after the quarterback, even though he was no where near the play.

This kicker definitely would have made an impact on this play if not blocked ( and probably would have been just as hurt).

Agreed.  Seems like they are under a lot of scrutiny this year, and not just on this forum.

Naw.  That dude is on IR and gone for the year with a fractured spine and a busted jaw.

Definitely thought this was Detroits year to sweep the division…with Daaable Check Rodgers and the Cutler out. :-\

Thanks again Miami.  I had thought only the Ravens would upset the Pats down the stretch. ;D

“Brady plays well in the cold.”
Is 84 and sunny cold?  ;D

I gotta say, being a Dolphan and going into Week 16 with a glimmer of hope is a bit f##king weird!  ::slight_smile:

It’s fun watching Tannehill develop.  I like Coach Philbin too.  He kinda reminds me of Tom Landry a bit - without the suit.

or the hat.

Without their hats they look like they could be related

So do these guys…weird.

Yeah, well we saw last Sunday what happens when you trade your hoodie for a visor, ay?    ;D

Franco Harris on Inside the NFL this week: still a class act!

So far this season they’ve had Jim Brown, Earl Campbell and Franco Harris.  Seems to me if they get Larry Csonka on there it will be a perfect season!
