National Beer Day

Today is National Beer Day. It commemorates the day in 1933 that it became legal again to buy, sell and drink beer.

YAHOO!! I will be going out for some of THE best chicken wings in the Buffalo area to celebrate along with a fine paddle of tasters to go along with it.

Then, when I get home… ;D

This should be a National, paid holiday!

Might have to make it one for myself next year.

Does anyone know what even bigger and more consequential significant date in beer history is approaching?

My birthday?  Oh wait, that was last weekend (40 years for 40 beers).

September 28 - National Drink Beer Day.

Much sooner.

500th anniversary of Reinheitsgebot? April 23rd, 2016.

That’s it!
I know Reinheitsgebot is a series of laws but I guess what is considered the main Bavarian Beer Purity Law was passed or in effect April 23, 1516. Its a Saturday and I might try to get something together with friends. At the very least I’ll make a german dinner and drink my first lager homebrew.

I’d rather celebrate its demise.

Well I think we live in the best of both worlds. Germans had to craft their beers a certain way and develop the best possible ways to use limited ingredients while in England, Belgium etc. they were able to do other things with sugars, fruits etc. I don’t think continental lagers would be the same without that history.
Its really just an excuse to cook a great meal and drink beer…

You had me at ‘reason to drink a beer’.

National Beer Day + I went to a local biergarten and found out grandbaby No 6 will be a boy.  This ensures my family name will continue at least one more generation.

Congrats. As for my family name, I have and will have no children, and my brother does not seem to be in any hurry either, though he is only 33, at least I have cousins that will carry it on for the family, just not sure if my father’s kids are going to make it happen

I will send you my “children” next week Frank…

Cant wait to try whatever you send
