OFF LINE BREWING SOFTWARE

Any suggestions for brewing software to use offline have limited net service

I use Promash for that reason.

I’ve used  Promash for ~10 years and really like it.
Unfortunately, the website is down/gone and you can’t download the trial version.

Can you provide a link for promash.
I’ve found a few but I’m not sure if they are legit.
Thanks.

Beersmith (lots of support; $)
BrewTarget (free)
Brew Recipe Developer (free; different take)

To name a few more

ProMash is unavailable in its full form AFAIK. I was able to obtain a copy of it about 2 years ago.

Brewers friend has a desktop β version of brewing software for windows.

LOVE BRD

For Beersmith you only need Internet access to download it. You do not need Internet access to use it.

Used ProMash for many years and loved it.
Sure beat doing calculations by hand
When ProMash support went away switched to BeerSmith several years ago.
Got to say BeerSmith is quite an advanced program.
Little intimidating at first but well worth the effort to learn.
I give it the double thumbs up.

For the extremely budget conscious: BeerPal for iPhone. It was $0.99 and its all I use. I don’t need all that fancy stuff in beersmith, and like having something to jot down ideas on the fly and get pretty accurate numbers.

I like StrangeBrew (www.strangebrew.ca).  If I hadn’t been using that for the past 18 years, I would try BeerSmith instead.

I love BeerSmith (although I haven’t tried some of the other “offline” options)…it’s powerful, flexible, highly customizable. Might be a little overwhelming with the sheer number of options, but definitely software a brewer can grow into.

Thank you looks like I will take a look at beersmith

BRD is new to me. Is there an english version, or just DE? There doesn’t appear to be an english download page, so I’m hesitant.

You can change the language of the software from the menu: Einstellungen / Sprache / Change to English

Edit: I believe .net v4 is required for BRD

This is not really in direct response to Big Monk, just one of my “Ah ha!” moments

I remember testing BrewMate a couple years back, and then they stopped development.  Turns out it was because Brewers Friend bought/gained rights to the software.  It doesn’t look like much has changed in the years that have passed besides some name/label changes here and there.  I remember thinking it was alright and liked the portable factor, but ultimately went a different route.  Both BrewMate and Brewers Friend are viable options though. Pretty easy to use and not bloated.

I have their team some feedback a while ago about big fixes. It’s a pretty neat little program.

It’s essentially an updated version of ProMash. It has all the same features and outputs in beer.xml

I’m a fan of BeerTools Pro.
