Again, excel is a great tool. I use it everyday. Depending on your desires and expertise you can set up awesome spreadsheets.
Beersmith is already set up. I’m happy to use it so I don’t have to think about it. Still some thought but for real most part it’s plug and play.
For the record I have not delved into the depths of Beersmith. I use it surface deep at best. But I’ve got some awesome financial models I can share in excel…

I’m just goofing around. At the end of the day I stayed with spreadsheets because it allowed me a level of control and content just not available in off the shelf software.
OK, that spreadsheet is a thing of beauty! Nicely done. There is certainly something to be said with tailoring the whole ball of wax to one’s own personal brewing system and procedures!
That’s pretty sweet! I made my own, and switched to Beersmith at some point. I like having it available on my phone. On the other hand, I don’t love Beer Smith’s interface. I feel like a lot of it is not intuitive, and while there are a ton of writeups and video’s on how to use it, I don’t feel like it’s something you should need to have training on. I might need to take a second look at mine, maybe include a tasting notes section.
I sat on the porter for three more days, ramping it up from 69 to 72 degrees and it dropped to a happy 1.020. I bottled it after three days of steady twenty and it smells and tastes great.
I’m still waiting on the gallon of BE-256 beer, which was already primed. I’ll finish that tonight and let you know how it went.
thanks again for this terrific, and educational, thread.
