I recently upgraded my brewstand adding a pump and a dedicated HLT (and lots o’ shiny stainless fittings!) with a burner. So, now with 2 burners I would like to “hard-wire” the propane from one tank to the two burners so I do not have to keep switching the burners attached to the tank. I have looked at hardware stores/ home centers and cannot figure out what fittings I should use to accomplish this. I have also looked around on the internet for what other folks have but have not seen enough detail or explanation as to the fittings.
Can anyone help? My burners are the simple blowtorch type with high pressure regulators that attach directly to the propane tank.
I use a gas arm on my single tier brewstand. The gas flows through a 2" x 2" SST tube to flexible gas lines that connect to the burners.
I recommend steel gas piping for your main supply line then you can step down to flexible gas tubing from there. You need to leak check all of your connections with snoop prior to lighting the burners. Install independent shut off valves for each burner. Gas plumbing is a safety concern and should be installed with care. If you are not familiar with it, I recommend hiring a licensed plumber for consultation and/or installation.

I will have to take some photos. I was planning on “showing it off” when I had it up and running. It ain’t that spectacular but I am excited about it. :
I am comfortable with plumbing propane. I have done it in my home, though with different fittings using flexible copper and flare fittings. The 20 lb. tank and burners I am not familiar with the fittings. I have seen that many folks use rigid steel piping for the bulk of their setups. It is the adapting of this to the flexible hoses and regulators that I already have I am unsure of.
I use a flex gas line from the tank to my main line on my stand. All my piping on my brew stand is steal gas piping from HD with temp controlled asco valves at each burner (except the boil kettle burner which is manual. I also have a separate ball valve on the MTL and HLT that connect to a small flex copper pipe for pilot lights. I used liquid pipe thread sealant at all joints and haven’t had any issues. I did, of course, check for leaks a few times before ever firing it up.
For now I am looking at fully manual lighting. I want to split the line to go to both burners. I am unsure whether I should leave the regulators on each burner or have just one at the tank. Do I need/want ball valves for each line and where should they go? Can I splice the flexible (rubber?) hoses that I have somehow to hardware fittings I need?
i used 1/2 copper pipe soldered together with 4 ports two each for the pilot light and main gas line to the burner. needle valve on the pilot going to a 1/4 in copper copper tube bent to line up with the burner and crimped at the end. the for the main you can go with a standard gate valve but i used solenoid valves and then gate valves for metering the flow.
i would not splice rubber hose, i had mine cut and crimped at a local hose shop and at $4 a hose it was a great deal.
people get scared of propane but as long as you’re leak free, test by pressurizing your system with air and squirting joints with water, you’re fine
