I was searching the net to see if wine bottles will hold up against the high co2 volumes that are produced by refermentating Belgian beer but could not find anything? I read 750 ml Belgian beer bottles would do the trick but I prefer to save a couple of bucks and use the wine bottles. I plan on capping them by forcing a wine cork down into the bottle and putting a crown cap on it. Any insight will be greatly appreciated!
I wouldn’t rely on a wine bottle.
A champagne bottle, yes.
Wine bottles are not intended to hold pressure. I also don’t think they’ll take a crown cap.
