Cinnamon is one of those spices that does well in sweet or savory, but in my beer? I shouldn’t scoff though without trying one. Methinks it’s for flavoring purposes only.
No. My local grocery store had a special & I picked up the 12pack the other day. Chocolate bock is a nice change of pace. Holiday porter is OK. I like the wheat beer (white ale?) a lot. Thought the Old Fezziwig was down right nasty (though I understand some folks actually like the stuff). Maybe I just don’t care for holiday beers, but I feel that I would have been better off just getting a couple 6-packs of craft IPA or ESB.
Back when I was starting out I picked 2 of the winter sampler packs from SA. I liked all the beers in them except the Cranberry Lambic. I decided it wasn’t worth drinking two of those just to get bottles.
I’m enjoying the Fezziwig right now . . . I was worried it would be overdone based on this thread, but I find it to be rather subdued. Maybe it’s just a year to year variation.
Looks like last years. Mine had White Ale and Chocolate Bock instead of Cream Stout and Cranberry Lambic. I’ll miss the stout but always dumped out the CL every year.
Their Winter Lager is great, and most restaurants around me will have it on tap after Octoberfest and before Nobile Pils.
And Fezziwig is one of my favorite seasonal beers.
