It appears that Sierra Nevada is brewing yet another take on American-style Marzen this year. I am not a fan of style. It is too sweet and bland. I prefer the more festbier-oriented offering that they brewed last year. Does anyone remember the grist composition?
Came across this indicating 2 Row, Munich and Vienna…
I haven’t had it this year. I usually find their take is more traditional than the other standard fare.
I took the day off from work and brewed my festbier today. I went with a grist composed of Pilsner, Vienna, and CaraHell malts. I used whole cone Mittelfruh for bittering and late additions.
That sounds good. Prost [emoji482]
I don’t think the 21 is too shabby. Not as Americanized as I was expecting. Also I think the American breweries are adapting to more traditional ingredients/methods. I definitely prefer prior years though.
