so cringey whenever i see people neither homebrewers or pro brewers review beer

Otherwise it would be Kieth beer reviews and who would like that

Even people who should know about beer often say some pretty stupid stuff, I took a 1 day beer server training course a couple years ago just for giggles. The instructor was, IIRC a level 3 Cicerone and at one point in the class proceeded to tell us that the yeast converts complex carbs into fermentable sugars in the boil. Needless to say I was unable to really listen to anything he said after that, I’m pretty surprised that I was able to keep my mouth shut and not blurt out how full of excrement he was. Seems like I paid 40 bucks for that jewel of misinformation, and wasted an entire afternoon to boot.

That’s a little like judging across with a Level VII BJCP Grand Poobah who is an old smoker and has no palate at all and says things that make it clear they have never tasted the style they are judging (say Ordinary Bitter or Dusseldorf Altbier) “in the wild” and are basing their understanding of the beer off of the 1997 version of the guidelines or the stale bottle of bass ale served to “calibrate the palate.” I’m exaggerating, but only slightly.

thats brutal, yeah that would be a strong signal to ask for a refund. but… you’d probably miss out on a lot of beer sampling…

Hell, there wasn’t even any beer sampling in the friggin’ class - and no chicks either, sheesh!

Now that’s a BS beer class.

i agree, my beers got better the more i just started having fun brewing rather then feeling like the world is gonna stop if everything does not go perfect and taking brewday too seriously, its great to learn and strive to master an art but at the end of the day its just beer and its supposed to relieve stress not add stress

Hear hear!

You need to spend more time on British Youtube, where they invite you to ask one’s butler to press the like button for you…
