F’ing fantastic. Just got back last night, with 23 bottles, several glasses, and a touch over 1400 photos. I’ll try and wrangle some up to post - of course I’ve already told several people that same thing, so it may take a while. Overall it was a fantastic trip, we drank buttloads of great beer all over the place. I’ll be going back for sure, although not sure when, as it was something of a cash-magnet. Oh well, totally worth it.
Hey not fair. It seems like you go over there every other week. This was my first time.
If you have a car, you should definitely hit up De Molen. They’re about 30 minutes outside of Utrecht. Fantastic little brewery, and some good food in the pub too.
Great pub. Had a couple there myself. I probably don’t need to tell you, but if you haven’t been there before, check out Café Gollem as well. Great place. Right across the alleyway from The Cracked Kettle.
I know. I’ve been so busy lately, I frankly haven’t had the time. And I agree with you, easy to get burnt out.
Amsterdam was certainly, interesting. There was indeed a ton of construction going on, but I noticed that in several other places too (Ghent and Brugge had quite a bit). The city was kinda cool looking, but hat a grimy, dirtiness that I didn’t care for. Literally trash everywhere. But the architecture and canals were obviously cool, as well as the food/beer. It’s really hard to form an solid impression having only been there once, and only for a few days.
