So, Finally heading for Europe tomorrow...

and 11 glorious days of beer and food. Damn I’m excited. We’ll be staying:

2 nights in Amsterdam
5 nights in Ghent
1 night in Bamberg
2 nights in Munich

Really the whole trip is centered around beer, I can’t even list off all the breweries we’re going to. But among things I’m excited about are, La Trappe, Cantillon Opening brew day, Rodenbach, De Struise, In de Vrede cafe, Boon (Frank Boon is giving us a private tour), Zythos festival, pre-Zythos festival, Nacht van de Grote Dorst, Weyermann tour, and lots of things I’m forgetting.

Man I’m excited - and there’s a pretty good chance that I might die while I’m over there, so if I never talk to any of you again, these last couple years have been fun!

Man…I am SOOOOOOO jealous. Have a great trip!

Wow, that sounds like it will be an amazing time!  Have fun and take lots of pictures!

Thanks guys!

PS, with this on my mind I just had an idea, we should change the “Post” button on these forms to a “Prost!” button.  :P

How did you get a Weyermann tour?

Kai

Lol. I wish I knew man. We’re going with a group, so the host organized it.

I was under the impresion that they give normal tours, especially since they have a “How to get there” page on their website, but perhaps that is not the case? I know we get to check out the malting facility as well as their brewery.

That’s cool.

They don’t give public tours. But they do give tours to groups though.

Kai

Ah, well that explains it. I’m looking forward to that + drinking a bunch of Rauchbier.

Have fun and post some pics when you get back!

If I make it back, I certainly will.

Your liver will punch you in the face when you return to America  8)

At least my liver has the courtesy to wait until I get home.  :o

If it really acts up, just drink it back into submission…  ::slight_smile:

That’ll learn it!

One night in Bamberg is not enough!

I agree, but that ship has sailed. We’ll probably be there about 30 hours or so

My picture is in the pub drinking a Schlenkerla Maerzen.

Spezial has wonderful beers, not as smokey as Schlenkerla.

Go to Mahrs for some great lagers.

I also recommend the brewing museum if it is open.  And the Dom.  Too much to see and do in 30 hours.

Oh, I’m sure. It just gives me an excuse to go back

:stuck_out_tongue:
I wanna goooooooo

How was the trip?!?!?!

Can’t wait to see pictures!
