I recently kegged a sour beer in a 5 gallon commercial stainless steel keg. I am wondering if I can use that keg for other beers that are not sour.
Even though the keg is stainless steel and even if I thoroughly clean it, I’m wondering if the black plastic ring inside the dip tube, that is attached to the spring at the very top would house the sour stuff?
You should be fine. However, if you are still concerned about the keg holding different flavors, replacement kegs parts aren’t that expensive especially if they are plastic.
I think i will dismantle the commercial keg and boil all the rubber gaskets. I have never disassembled a commercial keg before. I’m just wondering if I can reuse the steel spring that locks the dip tube in place.
This is not a corny keg/soda keg, this is a 5 gallon stainless steel commercial keg. I have to figure out how to disassemble and then reassemble the stainless steel spiral coil that locks the dip tube in place.
