How tall is the 8 gallon with airlock?
Jim, I don’t know the height, but I have friends that use a second spigot as a blowoff when it wouldn’t fit in their freezer. It fits on the lid easily.
Approximate Dimensions: 13.5in Diameter x 18.5in Height (w/out airlock in place). Note - The maximum temperature that these plastic fermenters can handle is 140F. The airlock looks to add at least 5 inches in high but id give it a conservitave estimate of 6 for your measurements.
Right on, my freezer is about 29" deep
My freezer is 28" deep and I have 2 1" thick pieces of wood sitting in bottom. My 8G Speidel with specimen cup on fits easily.

I still really like my polycarbonate Cambro buckets, but it will be nice having an oversized fermentor for big crazies. I might have to get a second one for fruit. (Please don’t tell anyone I’m going to use fruit… I don’t want the rheinheitsge-Bots tracking me down)

They have really stepped up the saver shipping. In the past it wouldn’t ship for a few days.
Agreed. It used to take longer for them to pack it than the shipping.
It arrived. Love it. Fits chest freezer with 6" to spare. Ordering a second or third one. Screw buckets and blowoff tubing. This thing rocks. Haven’t used it yet of course, but its obvious this is the way to go.

The new plastic Big Mouth Bubbler from Northern Brewer/Midwest looks nice too. Big Mouth has only 6.5 gallon capacity versus 7.9 gallon for Spiedel. But, Big Mouth is transparent which is something I would like from my Spiedel. I love to watch the fermentation channel.
No idea those existed. Look pretty nice. Clear like a better bottle without the hassle of a small opening.
