standard size fridge / fermentation chamber

I believe I originally posted this to the incorrect forum, so I am reposting it here.

I have a full size side by side fridge/freezer in the basement.  It was free. I have used it for four or five years.  I want to modify it to be a fermentation chamber.  It would be the same idea as using a dorm fridge and building an extension, only on a larger scale.  I normally put hops and such in the freezer side, and corny kegs in the fridge side.  This would be a significant change, and would mean no more lagering.  Anyone have plans or experience for such a thing?  Thanks.

The freezer side will not be freezing with the fridge at ale temps. You will have the control to ferment and lager/crash cool.

I took out some of the shelves on the door and I could fit two fermenters on the bottom and two on a shelf above them. It’s a bit scary putting that much weight on a glass shelf.

I would no longer be using it as storage, but as a space for fermentation.  Am I off base?
