i am wondering where you want to go with this. you can buy an apple that probably has yeast on it and will eventually have some alcohol if allowed to sit.
Once upon a time, we tried to use “personal responsibility” instead of laws to organize our society. It was called the “Dark Ages” and shit sucked. People ended up marrying their cousins and murdering their parents. Laws may not be perfect today, but I think we’re headed in the right direction.
Holy crap!! Where did you come from Cappo?!?! Missed ya, brah.
Really not sure what your point is here. By that logic, you could say its illegal to shoot someone in the face, but its legal to buy a gun. Its illegal to drive into a buss load of nuns, but you’re allowed to buy a car…
I thought the law said that you could brew 100 gallons of beer per legal adult per household up to 200 gallons, but didn’t specify exactly who had to do the brewing or how possession worked.
In other words, if you live with your dad, you buy barley, you own the barley, you make beer, you … still own the beer.
This seems to indicate a situation where illegal possession can occur without anyone actually doing anything illegal. Mind you illegal possession seems ridiculous and silly, and also it would be hilarious to see cops raiding places because YOU HAVE BEER (welcome to riotville).
It’s not like they could ban home brewing … I mean what would be the justification? The ‘children’ (read: young adults) of this country have been corrupted by the evil great satan Barack Obama who hath given his deceptive example by having brewed the great poison in the sacred White House? Yeah no, President brews his own beer, can’t say brewing your own beer is a bad thing.
Interesting, though the press seems to want to claim the President did, and he doesn’t seem to want to deny it.
Which is pretty much the point. There’s basically an interesting path between having one thing and that one thing turning itself into another thing that you’re not supposed to have. Someone mentioned that if you have an apple long enough it becomes booze; indeed, if you have a barrel and you press apples into juice and come back in the spring and drink half a gallon of that juice, you’re not gonna walk straight for a while. Illegal storage of apple juice?
Mind you, if an 18 year old got his own place and picked a bunch of apples off the tree and pressed them and put them in barrels, those barrels would be legal. A day later, maybe less legal. A month later, very illegal. Yet pressing apples into juice and drinking it is legal. Storing it in the refrigerator (where it doesn’t ferment for a little while) is also legal. Thus we’re to the point where leaving something in your basement instead of in your refrigerator is illegal…
