Three beers a day keeps the doctor away!

[quote]“Contrary to the common view, beer has lots of health benefits that make it at least as healthy as wine when it’s consumed in small amounts. Moderate consumption can mean as much as three glasses a day, when paired with a healthy diet.”

Three beers a day keep the doctor away

The article is Danish, so does that mean 3 Carlsbergs a day keep the doctor away?

I know that even my session-ish homebrews weigh in around 150 calories per 12 oz. If I drink 3 that’s an extra 450 calories per day, which is almost a meal’s worth of calories. It’s good to know that reasonable consumption of alcohol isn’t going to kill me, but I think I’ll stick to my one a day for now. My pants will thanks me later.

3 a day daily does seem like a lot of extra calories. But every last one  tastes so good and worth the calories

Cut those “extra servings” of carbs out and the beers fit right in.

Yeah, up the exercise and cut out the danishes and that just might work.

Good to know that at 41, I “should” be drinking 2 or 3 a day. Luckily I still work and play hard enough that the extra calories are welcome. Thank you, beer!

Hold on. Why is beer the EXTRA calories? Oh, but a McD number 4 twice a day isn’t?

My beer intake is the given. Everything else is extra.

Amen.  Daily liquid bread.  I say no to most other sugars nowadays.

+1 It all comes down to choices: donut or beer, pie or beer, snickers bar or beer. Easy choice for me.

My 15 mile daily bike ride is good for four beers.  Time spent in the water every day is lagniappe.  8)

I’ve actually had 2 doctors tell me that 2 beers a day will benefit me. Of course they point out that if I skip a couple days I can’t make them up all at once!
