Visiting in-laws in NJ and stopped in at Toms River Brewing, which leans towards Irish. I would say that their beers are hit and miss, with some very good ones and some not so good. They also had some that were mis-categorized. My sister-in-law was asking for light beers, but in the end she liked the darkest ones best: nitro stout, s’mores stout and Irish red (my favorite, and one of their flagship beers). I unfortunately steered her to something that was called a New England IPA that was actually a West Coast IPA with 60 IBU, and she hated it. I thought it was OK but just advertised wrong. One was labelled as both weiss and hefeweizen, and was somewhere in that ballpark, but not really either one. I guess the lesson is that when they claim to be an Irish brewery you should stick to their Irish brews. Those were good, the others not so good.
