Using chest freezer for kegs???

I have looked at several company’s sites to determine the temperature range that chest freezers operate. I would like to get a chest freezer, put it in my laundry room and store kegs with the CO2-- obviously, I do not want the T to be 20%…

Any one using a chest freezer for this role?

Yes, you need to purchase or make a temperature controller to prevent making  beer slushies.

Any one of the below would work fine.  Having used both the Johnson and the Auber, I much prefer the Auber (even though you won’t need dual stage control for this application).

I’m also as big fan of Auber.  I’ve tried the other brands but found the Auber offers more features for a lower price.

I purchased two of these and am very pleased with them:

My friend has a calibrated thermometer at work so I took them in to his lab and found that they were both off by a few degrees, but after calibration they have worked flawlessly so far.  I have one for my kegerator and one for my fermentation chamber; both are fridges.
