Much has been written about water for beer brewing and for soft drinks but little is readily available for distilling. Here are a few pointers for quality of the water and treatments generally regarded for distilled spirits manufacture. There are three separate waters used in whisky (read also for other spirits here) production: mashing, cooling and reduction (or dilution-water).
