Anyone using a freezerless 3.3 cu ft fridge for corny kegs (sort like the one below)? I have a 4.4 danby which works pretty well but wondering if the 3.3 has enough room. The dimensions at the link below say 33x20 for height and width but the depth to the hump is what I’m wondering about. I think those door racks may be removable one way or another so not sure I need to concern those.
Hello Joe. Not able to speak from experience. I have a different set up with top opening convered freezer to a fridge and my kegs fit great. Here is what a quick websearch revealed (grain of salt):
A standard 5-gallon Cornelius keg typically measures approximately 24.75 inches in height and 8.5 inches in diameter. Regarding the refrigerator, the Frigidaire 3.3 Cu. Ft. Compact Refrigerator has the following external dimensions
-
Height: 33.375 inches
-
Width: 18.75 inches
-
Depth (excluding handles): 17.5 inches
Internal dimensions are not always specified in detail, especially concerning the depth to the compressor hump. However, given the external depth of 17.5 inches, it’s likely that the internal depth is slightly less. Considering the keg’s diameter of 8.5 inches, the width and height of the refrigerator seem sufficient to accommodate the keg upright. The primary concern would be the internal depth, particularly if the compressor hump reduces the usable space. If the internal depth, accounting for the compressor hump, is at least 9 inches, the keg should fit. If not, the keg may not fit without modifications.
Happy chilling out and cheers. Julia
yeah, the hump in the bottom is the problem for a 5 gal corny keg. I have a similar size beer
fridge and am a big fan of these: https://www.morebeer.com/products/oxebar-mono-pet-keg-8-22-gal.html. Only 2 gal, but the price is right, they fit fine in the fridge with a 5 lb co2 tank with regulator, and they are easy to manage. My 5 gal cornys have become secondaries, allowing o2-free periodic transfers to serving keg(s) in the fridge. Works for me!
