I was curious what the alpha acid levels would be for the most recent harvest after a few years of lower than average AAs from Germany. I just received an order from Yakima Valley Hops and can report the following: Magnum 14.2%, Perle 7.5%, Mittelfrüh 3.4%, and Hersbrucker 3.0%. From Czechia the Saaz is 2.7%. I also ordered 2025 German hops from Michigan Hop Alliance and those two were: Magnum 15.0% and Tettnanger 3.8%. Also of note from Yakima Valley Hops, the 2025 Euro crop is only available in 4 oz or 16 oz packaging.

I saw that YVH will add the tariff to the order upon check out.
Yes, I don’t blame them for detailing where the extra 12.5% cost comes from compared to US hops. For my order of 40 oz of hops it raised the total by $5.25 or so. Shipping was $24, so the tariff didn’t have much impact on my purchase. It does make me wonder if commercial breweries in the US will start substituting US grown noble hops for some of their lagers.
