After my last saison, I kept the yeast slurry and rinsed it until I had about 1/4 cup or so of creamy, fairly clean looking yeast. This went into a Star-San rinsed plastic vial (new, not a WLP vial) and into the fridge. It’s been in there for a month or so now.
There’s nothing odd looking about it but I’m wondering if this would benefit from some additional washing? I’m not sure when I will brew a saison again, probably after the new year to start building up summer beers.
Does anyone do this? Yes, I know it is cheap enough to buy a new pack but where’s the fun in that? If it was about being easy, I’d buy beer. I like the learning and the challenge. Thoughts?
Thanks.
