adding more oxygen

I brewed an Imperial stout with OG 1.098 and got about 30 seconds of oxygen into the wort before the tank ran out. This was right when I pitched my 1272 yeast from another batch and starter. So fermentation has started and I am wondering if it is too late to add more once I get to the store tonight. Thoughts?

Thanks,
Nathan

How long has it been? I like to give my big beers a second dose of O2 about 12-18 hours after pitching. It it’s been much longer than that I’d hold off rather than risk oxidation.

I pitched yesterday morning but the temp was low in the 50s. I started to see activity last night when i ran out of oxygen. Sounds like I should just let it be. I may have to add an active starter later on to get the gravity down.

Thanks,
nathan

I don’t know if you will need to do anything. I don’t use pure o2 and get 1.100+ beers to finish with no problem.
