Apple Jacks in the boil????

So I am trying to think outside the box here and wanted to try something new. Been reading on some people experimenting with breakfast cereal in their brews. I was contemplating trying to add apple jacks into my next brew. I thought about adding some to the mash and then maybe some more towards the end of the boil. Anyone have any reason I should not try this??? Thanks!

Having both brewed with cereal and jusged a competition where the brewers used it, I,d say add it to the mash and skip the boil.  In fact, I’d say skip it altogether.  Ther affect of the cereal in the beers I,ve rtied ranged from none to not good.

Brew an oatmeal milk stout and pour it over Apple Jacks.

A local brewery did a stout with count chocula cereal, and I believe they used it in the mash. I imagine using cereal in the boil would result in a nightmare of a trub pile.

Or a milk stout and use it in oatmeal! Might have to try this.

That could work.

Thanks for the feedback! I ended up using it in the mash. Went well from what I can tell. Fermentation got going very quickly so I should be able to post a final conclusion soon. Cheers!
