My understanding is that Peyton has a vested interest in a AB distributorship and his comments were probably self-serving. Don’t be too surprised that he does AB commercials once his NFL career is over. Julia’s letter is probably a waste of time. Business over taste.
I believe Manning has interest in 2 CO AB distributors and also owns 25 Papa Johns throughout CO, I don’t see him giving up major endorsement money but he might sample few craft beers just for the hell of it;)
I certainly never suggested he was stupid. And I assumed he was getting paid from Bud but it makes sense that he is simply promoting his business investment.
No, you didn’t and my comment was not meant as a personal affront to you. Others suggested that AB got free advertising and that perhaps this was done on a whim to promote Peyton’s interests. I contend that Peyton’s choice of words was much more contrived, I suspect by contract that AB satisfies handsomely. Probably works pretty well too, dammit.
Exactly. Peyton is a very smart guy, on the field and in business ventures and endorsements. He knows what he’s doing every step of the way. I just meant that it was a well placed, smart plug for a guy who won’t be around the league to face the consequences next year.
Very cool. Excellent letter and attempt to educate Julia!
Not just trying to educate him; nice to see the sentiment go out.
Love the Left Hand response by the way…bring us a Bud can, and we will give you a free beer…
I will have a Fade to Black Volume 2 please. Thank you very much!!
Technically, he should be fined for his words, the NFL bans players from plugging alcohol of any kind, they are simply not allowed to plug any alcoholic products as well as tobacco. If he retires its a non-issue. He got his plug in but I’m pretty sure he wasn’t paid to do it, simply tooting his own horn:)
It’s supposedly 2 distributors in Louisiana, but it’s unclear if he still owns a stake and which distributors. I’m still trying to find out due to curiosity. That being said, the Bud distributors in the state are, generally speaking, much more ‘craft’-conscious. The SAB Miller distributor is my least favorite to hear of when they pick up a brand. They only seem to care about one particular market, and ignore everywhere else.
No doubt. But wouldn’t you respect him more if he just owned it by simply responding in song, “Chicken Parm you taste soo go-od.”? Drop the mike and head for Disneyland on the Budmobile.
