Loving this thread. I am an ex-pat Brit trying to brew a great English Ale. I have brewed about 15 batches over the years, changing the recipe and entering them in Comps for feedback. I can honestly say that the beer engine has made by far the biggest difference in getting close(r) to the quintessential British pint. Far more that changing the yeast, grain, adjuncts, adding Lyle’s syrup, changing the fermentation temperature etc.
