Do any of you guys print beer labels for your brew? If so what websites do you reccomend or other ideas that might work.
I really like onlinelabels.com. They have some nice free software called Maestro. Often times I’ll build images in powerpoint and add them into their software. They have a great selection of label shapes and sizes. I really prefer their waterproof laser labels.

I have a Hallmark program on my PC that the wife uses to make Birthday cards, etc…It also has a section for making shipping labels which I use to make labels for my special brews. The last 2 years, the kids have made the drawings that were used to make the labels on my Christmas Ale.

Does anyone use any freeware and/or open source software that would be comparable to Publisher? I find that word processing apps (i.e., Open Office/Libre Office) aren’t robust enough for me and image/photo editing software (i.e., GIMP) is too cumbersome for this type of editing.
Just thought I’d chime in and say that if you rub skim milk on the back of home printed labels it works pretty well as a glue.
I’ve even had some withstand a cooler on a beach. But I think that depends on the paper you use and also if you get them printed on a laserjet printer so the ink doesn’t run.
If you have a Mac, Pixelmator is absolutely brilliant for $15.
I have recently started making labels for tap handles. I use a combination of label sites on the web and Publisher. I just import images and put text boxes/word art/etc on them. Try these sites out for ideas, plus you can make your own labels on them (some cost money to download the images, though):

I have also used Adobe Illustrator to make a brewery sign (see below). It’s very expensive, but a 30 trial can be downloaded for free. It’s definitely combersome if you haven’t ever used it, but you can do just about anything with it. Thanks! It’s been a lot of fun putting these together. My plan is to eventually have a different label for each beer style I brew.
I love making these labels as much as I love making the beers. I use Paint Shop Pro. Elmer’s Memory Book Glue stick is really nice for putting them on a bottle.

Mine are really boring, all text. But I’m just calling my series of beers “Nerd Girl Ale” and giving them number designations. So something blocky and computer-formatted-looking seems appropriate.
I used Inkscape to make the initial “NGA” logo, then assemble my basic labels in GIMP. Turn that into a PNG, paste a page-full into LibreOffice Impress, and export it as PDF for printing. There’s probably a better way of doing it, but I’m lazy and using Linux. For my quick-and-dirty labels, it works great.
I’ve also used beer labelizer.com for many of my labels. I made the mistake of using pre-gummed shipping labels on my first couple of batches - don’t, they won’t come off with any amount of PBW or oxyclean. Those bottles all ended up in the recycling bin. On advice from wiser brewers, I now thin elmer’s glue in water and use a brush to apply. They drop right off in warm water during cleaning.
