There are lot of black Friday deals on brewing stuff. I thought that I got a good deal on my BrewJacket Immersion Pro when it was selling for $200. AiH has it on sale for $150.00. I picked up a SS Brew Tech Brew Bucket today for $168.71, shipped. Yesterday, I picked up a water filter from MoreBeer for $39.99, shipped. I cannot build an equivalent water filter for that price. I added a 55lb scale (also on sale) to meet the $59.99 free shipping limit.
AIH has a hop grab bag deal where you get 8x 2 ounce bags of random hops for $8. I gotta say, I am tempted. I don’t need any hops, but I like the gambling aspect
Lmao, I’ll share em with my buddy hell use a lot of what I was given. Appears mostly to be for IPAS. And I hate IPAS, but I did get 2x 2 ounce packs I will definitely try, gonna split a 5 gallon batch of Altbier and experiment. Maybe broaden my horizons
I’m definitely going to use the cascade and the cluster, the new zealand hop I think is gonna go into a SMASH. A good friend of mine and fellow homebrewer does make a not too bitter IPA I do like he said he’ll take whatever I don’t want. I wont turn down free beer that’s for sure
Wow, even though I just tossed 20 pounds of hops from my freezer, I’m almost regretting not ordering a pound myself. That’s a good selection there. The Nugget, Comet, Ekuanot and Wakatu would go into an IPA, and the other 4 would each go into a separate pale lager.
I was actually referring to the pepperoni and ritz crackers. Which, btw, are both deliciuous, I just thought it was funny given the fancy stuff you usually see in pictures these days.
Indeed, it’s my favorite snack with beer! I recently moved out of my bachelor pad and into my GFs house I’m sure we have a few charcuterie boards somewhere!!
I have seen some wonderful photos on here, in waiting on the photo with the redneck with his homebrew in a mason jar drinking it in a cut off pair of Bib overalls!!!
I used it a couple of times a few years back and I didn’t get the “intensely fruity” that I’ve seen as a descriptor on several websites. To me, it was light citrus paired with floral/herbal/spicy. I made a mental note that I could use it similar to Motueka or Sterling. I like that character as a late hop in a pale lager, in an APA or blond ale, or maybe in a saison.
That being said, I only used one 4 oz pack. There could be some terroir/harvest-related variation that caused me to get different results in that one pack than what I’ve read. Or we could have another Belma situation where the hop growers overpromise/underdeliver on the flavor character.
