Blichmann Valve Modification to Tri-Clamp fittings

I have some blichmann kettles and was wondering if anyone has ever found fittings for the valves so they could use tri-clamps.  I have the half inch Blichmann valves and the smallest tri-clamp male adapter fitting I could find was 1".  I am assuming Blichmann uses a male adapter for the Fermenters that they offer with the tri-clamp fittings.

I know its not going to effect the wort, I am just more comfortable using Tri-Clamps.  And, like most of us, when it comes to equipment, I have champagne tastes on a beer budget :slight_smile:

First you have to know if you have mini TC or regular TC connectors.

GW Kent had a great quality TC fittings but they are more expensive.

You could always get away with using cam lock couplers.  they are just as sanitary as triclamps and much easier to operate.  I get mine from www.proflowdynamics.com  They even have a section strictly for homebrewers http://store.proflowdynamics.com/modules/store/-Couplings-for-Homebrewers-_C12074.cfm

Tight.  No Drips at all.  I run two 809 march pumps as well as my supply water at 60 psi, never had a problem

I want to upgrade to all tri-clamps on my Blichmann Kettles and Conical Fermenter some day. They are very pricey but worth it in the end. They should last a lifetime if you take care of them.

I mean how do they actually fit together?  One go inside the other?  Where do the clamps clamp?  Where is the O-ring?  I can find the separate parts, but nothing showing how they go together.

Plug

Socket

The gasket is in the socket.  The plug fits into the socket and the cam arms are then pulled down and the cams inside the socket fit into the groove on the plug and lock it into place.
