I’ve got two beers going at once, both I plan on blowing off crap through the tube. Is it safe to put both in the same bucket of sanitizer solution or should each get their own bucket? Not sure if there is a cross contamination risk. Thanks.
Shouldn’t be a problem. Gas is being pushed out and the pressure in the tube should keep anything from going back in causing cross contamination.
Someone will be along shortly to correct the Tubercle.
Nope. The Tubercle speaks the truth.
Thats pretty much what i thought too, but most of the time when i think logically in brewing someone prooves my logical thinking to be flawed
Just don’t squeeze the buckets or better bottles to hard or you’ll suck up sanitizer solution back into your beer.
Also, don’t crash chill your fermentation bucket with the blow off tube in sanitizer. The gas pressure in the headspace significantly changes (with significant volume contraction) and can suck up sanitzer, as well.
