I’m looking at upgrading from my single burner bayou cooker to a larger, two burner camp system. I’m wondering what you guys recommend as a minimum heat output requirement? I currently boil at 6 gallons, but may soon try my hand at larger batches, and don’t know what will be required to heat a 10 gallon boil in a reasonable amount of time. Suggestions?
What is a reasonable amount of time? Too big of a burner and then it’s a PITA and you’ll be heating mostly air. My biggest burner gathers dust. It’s over 300K and not even the biggest out there.
The first (and so far only) time I used a propane burner to brew was with a bayou classic, don’t remember which model but a little single burner turkey frier type, and it brought 14 gallons of wort to a boil with very little trouble in about 35 minutes.
Something in the 60-70k BTU range.

I have the 27 or 23 (forgot) nozzle wok burner, it’s 95,000 ish BTU. It seems to mostly be contained under the keggle and heats 10 gallons to 165 in about 20 minutes which makes for a decent work pace. I would not go larger as it would start spilling around the barrel.
