Campden tablets

I usually use RO water and adjust it according to style.  However, I can’t this Sunday and I was wondering how much Campden to use for 8 gallons?

IIRC, it’s 1 tab/gallon.

That’s the dosage when used to inhibit microbe growth in wine must.

When you’re using it to treat brewing water for chloramine 1 tablet will treat 20 gallons, but you can use it in less.

+1

so a half tablet for 8 gallons?

Yeah or just a bit less.  Break it in half, use the smaller half (since I’ve never been able to break one evenly).

Thanks everyone.

Ok, has nothing to do with the original topic but…  I’ve just gotta see the label for what you’re fermenting

It’s still under development but I’ll be sure to share when I get it done  ;D

Although at the rate that beer is going it might be next year’s holiday ale.
