Centennial delivery

My Hops Direct order for several pounds of Centennial, Mt Hood and (something else, I forgot) came in last night. I promised a friend 250g of centennial pellets so I had to open one of the vacuum bags (lucky I have a vacuum sealer). WOW. I looooooooove that aroma! It’s awesome! I’m thinking about doing a SMaSH MO/Centennial but does anyone have anything other than that they’d recommend for something featuring centennial?

If there was one American hop variety I could say I’ve used more than any other, it would probably be Centennial. I love the flavor and aroma. I use it in my IPA recipe religiously.

Bell’s Two Hearted Ale is all Centennial. There are a lot of clone recipes floating around. I did something similar with
80% Maris Otter
17% Vienna
3% Crystal 20
Tons of hops at 60, 20, 5 and dry-hopped

Wyeast 1272 comes pretty close to Bell’s yeast.

WINNER.

Try Sean’s(a10t2) THA clone. Best one out there, IMO.

Mullerbrau’s got one out there also.  Haven’t brewed it.  Two Hearted isn’t my favorite IPA, a little too dry, I think.  Maybe it’s the all Cents that I’m not a fan of, I don’t know.

Are these recipes on the AHA brewing wiki? I ask because I spent 3 years in Florida and one of the few things I miss in NorCal is Bell’s. Love that Centennial.

That’s weird, i live in Nor Cal and i can’t find Bell’s beer out here.

I think that’s what he said.  It is available in Florida, but not Nor Cal.

Cool.  I’ll be in Naples later this month and will look for it.  It always seemed like a beer wasteland there.  Two Hearted on the beach sounds awesome.

Swamp Head hasn’t started bottling yet, but you might also look for some of the Cigar City beers.

Oh that DOES sound awesome… I need a vacation…

Hey, the exchange rate is your friend. Go for it.

It is now. Thanks for the kick in the pants.
