I have randomly wound up with an oz of Citiva hops.
Has anyone used these before? What are they good for?
The bag says “stone fruit, floral, and resinous pine”. Can I trust that?

Yeah, kinda. I used them for dry hopping. I recall they were OK, but nothing special. It’s a name BSG gave to another variety, but I don’t recall what they really are.
I believe Citiva is a blend. They are marketed that way in Canada. It is probably a blend developed for a specific brewery to keep things consistent.
The packet definitely says “Citiva” with a C, but there’s also info online about HS Sitiva®, ”a blend formulated specifically for use in hazy IPA and other hop-forward beers” by RahrBSG.
I can’t quite figure out if they’re the same thing.
I’m pretty sure Citiva with a C isn’t a blend. I’ll see if I can confirm that.
I’ve used Citiva hops a few times. The oil content isn’t very high so using them for a dry hop will suck up a lot of beer with the amount you would need for a DH with just Citiva. I would recommend using it as a “piggyback” hop in the DH and blend with something else in the WP. Something along the lines of Citiva with Hull Melon or Citiva with Hallertau Blanc are interesting combos.
No, Citiva with a C is not a blend. It was previously spelled Sitiva but changed for some reason. Probably trademark legalities and all.
