I’m not sure if I should post this and please delete if needed. Sitting here playing w/ my 3-yr-old daughter and news of the Conn. elementary school shooting is running across the TV. Reports of 26 dead including 18 children. Very, very heavy heart today and prayers go out to all those families and that community. I just can’t imagine…
It’s weighing heavily on me as well. Just picked up my 8 year old daughter from the bus stop. Worst nightmare imaginable.

My cousin’s son goes to this school. Luckily they were on a trip to Disney.

Having said that… what a waste, an absolute horror and waste.
Any event like is very sad. With 4 kids in school (middle school, high school and college) and a wife who teaches high school these stories are very disturbing.
Please do what you can to help anyone around you who may be having issues. Open the door for them to open up. You never know what a simple conversation can stop from happening.
I hope all the families involved can find some solace and find a way through their pain. My family’s prayers are with them.

An absolute tragedy. I’m hugging my kids a little tighter tonight and feeling infinite sympathy for the parents who lost their little ones.
Terrible and dispicable tragedy. A great loss for our country. I really try to understand how these things happen but I am at loss. I pray for the families of the victims and shudder at the mental scars of the children and adults that had to witness such but mostly the children.
This is the worst tragedy that has ever occurred at an elementary school in the history of this country. Absolutely horrific. My heart goes out to all of the families and loved ones that were affected by this horrendous act. This person is completely senseless and pure evil.
This may be the worst shooting in an elementary school. I don’t want to make light of what happened today, but facts are facts, and this tragedy is forgotten. 38 people, most of them children died in an elementary school bombing in Michigan in 1927. More died in other bombings by this man, including him, after the school was bombed. He had killed his wife before the bombings. Unstable people have been around forever.

Just got home from a 2 night back packing trip in TN and was blissfully unaware of this tragedy until this AM. What a horrible tragedy. Thoughts and prayers go out to families. Very sad indeed.
I woke up and saw the headline “Connecticut elementary school shooting” and was terrified. I have a sister that we adopted from china who is still 9 and she goes to middle gate elementary, one of the 4 elementary schools in newtown. The school is just 7 miles from my house, it really is a tragedy. Im really upset how people really jumped on the gun control issues and religion issues right off without a second thought about grieving with these unfortunate families.
