Corny keg lid gasket stretched itself?!

Hello,

I desperately need some ideas or advice.  I have a standard corny keg and am ready to transfer some beer to it.  Suddenly though the lid is not seating well and is leaking quite profusely.  It appears the gasket or O-ring (whatever you call it) is too large, and has maybe stretched itself.  I’ve used this keg countless times before and the rubber gasket has appeared to be “growing”.

Anyway to shrink this?  Anyone have any ideas?  Here’s the other small problem:  I work at an embassy in West Africa, and trying to order a new one will take at least two weeks.  Thanks.

Not seeing the keg makes this difficult, so you will have to evaluate to see if these solution fit

1:  bed the arms that hold the lid on to apply more pressure

2:  set your regulator to a high pressure to seat the lid (lower pressure after seating)

3:  keg lube the ring (small leaks)

maybe
