Just a few uploaded and to be honest most of the pics taken had little to do with beer :o
But heres some that don’t cause my “Worlds to collide” as Kramer said to Georges Costanzas’
Should I say that we’re going back in aug. → amsterdam 2 days , before heading down to Belgium to watch the F1 car races along with a proper beer-tour thurout the area.
Not sure if we’ll pick up the rental car in Brussels or Liège. We’re hoping to stay at the same appt. in Resteigne so it will be mostly in the south. The wife’s hamster is busy plotting/planning everyday
Rental car was a VW Golf, 45-50+mpg saved more cash
When out traveling we ate where the locals ate- ask them whats good & cheap.
We flew into Frankfurt, Germany which saved ~$500, even with train cost it paid off.
Oh yeah go off-season
The last trip >8 days cost $4800 total:
airfare-Martin Air from orlando to amsterdam
Krasnapolsky apartment in amsterdam,
train tickets all over NL and a trip down to antwerpen,
concert tickets, food, lots of beer, Xtra stuff
gas & parking fee`s for car in fl. airport
We did Dallas - Amsterdam - Paris - Poperinge - Brugge - Gent - Amsterdam in 9 days for around that same amount last year. We stayed in hotels and did not rent a car though.
Your cost are well within the norm for a EU vacation -$4-5k for two people. The trains are great but to really get around a car is a must, Dupont,Silly,Fantôme,Orval,Dubuisson,Achouffe are all out in the sticks.
Plus theres all these little places along the way >
That castle was just something we noticed while driving and decided to stop.
Another stumble upon, we decided to have lunch while looking over the landscape.>> link
Now some badnews>>
Lastnite over dinner wife says the tickets for the F1 race will be around 900£ :o `about lost my appetite but as she explained its once-in-a-lifetime experience. More costs to come I’m sure
But this will mean we’ve covered the entire eastern/southeast of Belgium leaving only the coastal areas for another time.
We both agreed that renting a car in the land of awesome beer = bad idea ;D Maybe next time. I think we may hit up Japan for our next international trip.
