Maybe it’s just me, but I can’t take Citra alone. Too over fruity and makes the beer seem too sweet for me. I use them in combo with old school hops like Chinook and Centennial.
I agree. It needs a support hop. Can remain the star, just needs something to go with it. Classic C hops do fine.

Oh yeah. This will be the fourth time I’ve brewed it with minor variations. Second time adding some actual mango to the mix.

It’s weird, I skip most chile beers even though I’m a chile head. But mango amd habanero are awesome together. I’m sure the Citra accents the mango even more. Sounds tasty!

Indeed, it’s just as tasty without the mango, but Citra costs more. :o
With a little luck I’ll be at NHC and it should be just about ready to drink!
